The software license (GPL)

ThickGrass is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPLv2+). You’re free to run, inspect, and modify the plugin code on any site, as GPL requires. What you’re purchasing from us is described below — it’s not a restriction on the GPL code itself.

What a paid license covers

A ThickGrass license key entitles you, for the term purchased, to automatic updates and support at the level described for your tier on the Pricing page. A license key is tied to a specific number of active sites depending on the tier you purchased.

What happens if a license isn’t active

ThickGrass remains fully functional without an active license. An expired, missing, or revoked license only stops automatic updates and shows a periodic reminder to site managers — no ticket, report, automation rule, or other data or functionality is ever locked or disabled.
